THE SHORT VERSION
Typewriter collects nothing about you. There is no account, no email address, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporting and no third-party trackers. The app makes no network requests at all — it works exactly the same with your phone in aeroplane mode.

WHAT THE APP COLLECTS
Nothing.
We want to be specific rather than reassuring, so here is the full list of things Typewriter does not do: It does not ask you to create an account or sign in. It does not ask for your name, email address or phone number. It does not use analytics of any kind, first-party or third-party. It does not collect crash reports or diagnostics. It does not use advertising identifiers, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. It does not contain any third-party advertising, marketing or analytics software. It does not request your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. It does not send any data anywhere, because it makes no network requests.
The puzzles are generated on your device from the date. Nothing is downloaded, and nothing is uploaded.
WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Typewriter saves your progress so the app is useful between sessions: which puzzles you have played and completed; your scores, times and streaks; your settings, such as whether sound is on. This information is stored only on your device. We cannot see it, and it is never transmitted. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it. Because there is no account, this data does not follow you to a new phone. That is a deliberate trade: it is the same decision that means we hold nothing about you.
PURCHASES
Typewriter+ is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the entire transaction. We never see your payment details, your billing address, or your Apple Account. Apple tells the app one thing only: whether a valid purchase exists. We receive no information that identifies you, and we are not able to link a purchase to a person. THIS WEBSITE
The app and this website are different things, and it would be misleading to describe them the same way. This site is hosted by a third-party provider. Like almost all web hosts, it may record standard technical information when a page is requested — such as an IP address, browser type and which page was viewed — for security and to keep the site running. We do not use this to identify anyone, we do not combine it with anything else, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you email us, we will have your email address and whatever you wrote, for as long as it takes to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
CHILDREN
Typewriter is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect nothing, there is nothing we could knowingly or unknowingly gather from a child.
YOUR RIGHTS
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete or port the personal data a company holds about you, and to know whether it has been sold or shared. We hold no personal data about you. There is nothing for us to sell, share, breach, or hand to anyone else, and nothing for you to request or delete from us. Your puzzle history is on your device and under your control: deleting the app removes it. We have never received a government request for user data, and we could not usefully comply with one.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If the app ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so plainly and the date at the top will change. We will not quietly widen this policy — a change that affects what we collect will be described in the app’s release notes as well as here.
